Description

Panel One: Doc is still arguing with the man, who is partially standing. He says, "Dying? That's impossible." "Listen, this kid had a temp of 105 when we found him." "Are you sure?" he asks. Doc continues, "He was so delirious he tried to run away when we picked him off the ground. He fought us when we were bringing him in!" The man says, "Dr. Abernathy, you know as well as I that delirium can make people act-"

Panel Two: Doc leans forward and slams her fist on the man's des. He falls back into his chair in shock. She shouts, "He was drowning in his own blood and using his last breaths to try to save us from a plague!"

Panel Three: Doc crosses her arms and sneers as she says, "If that's a quality you don't want in a doctor, I'd hate to see what you prefer."

Panel Four: The man's shoulders are hunched, but we still can't see his face. "Fine. But I will be keeping a very close eye on his academic progress," he says. From off-panel, Doc says, "Good. I'll let him know."

Author Note

Not many people have the nerve to test Doc's patience, but all of them regret it. She will NOT be putting up with any of his nonsense.

I do like that final panel, though. He looks so pouty.

I hope you all had a restful holiday season, and are gearing up for a safe New Year! We're going to be staying in, eating snacks, and celebrating on our island in Animal Crossing.
