Panel One: Wider shot of the three of them at the table. Cal has put his bag down and opened a book. He has a quill in his right hand, ready to write on a notepad. To his left, DJ is positioning a book on a small folding book stand. There is a beige slate next to him, as well. Fern is seated across from DJ. "What about you, Fern?" asks Cal. "I'm not here to talk about names." Fern says.

Panel Two: Close shot of Fern, with a bookcase behind her. She's leaning forward on her elbows, with her fingers interlaced below her chin. She's staring directly at the viewer, with a bit of a smile on her face. "I'm here - " she says, "- To study!"

Panel Three: View from slightly over Fern's left shoulder of DJ. He's staring at the book on the stand in front of him, his face blank and expressionless. The background has wavy dark lines coming down from the top of the frame. Superimposed over the background in white text is the word "~Staaaaaaaaaare~"

Panel Four: Side view of Fern's left side. She's moved the small stack of books in front of her and is using it as a stand for her own textbook, in imitation of DJ. She's currently adjusting the book so it stays up. She's looking at DJ as she thinks, "Okay, so... Is he just staring at the diagram?"

Panel Five: Wide, short panel that goes across the page. There are three sets of chibi DJ and Fern, seated across from each other. The background is plain white. From left to right, DJ is the same, staring at his textbook. In the leftmost pair, Fern is copying him. In the middle, she's beginning to tire a bit, and there are little cartoonish sweat drops over her head. She's glaring a bit. On the right, she's started to hunch a bit in anger, and she looks like she's ready to start snarling.

Panel Six: View of Fern over DJ's left shoulder. Fern has had enough. She's glaring and yelling at DJ, her mouth drawn in an exaggerated, cartoonish style. The background is filled with flames. "DJ! You've been staring at the same page for half an hour!" Fern snaps. DJ shuts his book and says "Oh, thanks! I forgot to set my alarm." SFX: "Shut"

Panel Seven: Medium shot of DJ as he starts writing on his slate. His face is intent as he looks down at his work. SFX: >skritch< >skritch< >skritch<

Panel Eight: Extreme closeup of Fern's eyes. They are wide and there's a white flash indicating shock on the black background. SFX: "Gasp!"
