Description

Panel One: Dr. King smiles at Cal and asks, "So, Callum. You would like to enroll for training as a plague doctor?" Cal answers, "Yes, ma'am."

Panel Two: "All right, then!" she says. A huge stack of papers is dropped in front of Cal's shocked face with a mighty THUD! "These are your enrollment papers."

Panel Three: Dr. King then sighs and dramatically sweeps the stack of papers off her desk. "At least they would be, if you had a place to live or a legal guardian to fill them out."

Panel Four: She slides a single sheet of paper across her desk towards Cal. "Since you're independent with no prior records, you just have to fill out this." Cal responds, "Oh! Thank you."

Panel Five: Dr. King presses the button on the intercom on her desk. "Yang?" she asks. "Yes?" a voice answers. "We have a new student!" "Oh, that's great!" "He needs a room." "Oh." There is a pause. Yang asks, "Is that all right?" "Doc said it was," answers Dr. King. "Okay. Shall I let DJ know?" "Yes, please! Thank you." Dr. King clicks off the intercom with a smile.

Dr. King looks awfully pleased to be able to pass the buck to Doc, as it were. Hmm...

And can you BELIEVE that we've only got TWO MORE PAGES LEFT of the first chapter?! AAAAAAHHHHHH! I'm so honored that you've followed me even this far, knowing how much more of the story I have to tell. Soon you'll be starting on the second issue, and I'll be starting to draw the third!
