Description

Panel One: DJ is sitting on Cal's bed, looking down at him. He asks, "Do you... Want to talk about it?"

Panel Two: From above, Cal turns his head towards the wall and shifts a little. "Not really," he says. He looks a bit sad.

Panel Three: Silence and we see the two of them in the dark room. DJ's still sitting on the bed, but has slumped forwrd with his elbows resting on his legs. He's looking awkwardly away from Cal, who's still looking at the wall.

Panel Four: Cal props himself up on his elbows and asks, "Hey, uhm - Why don't we talk about you?" "Me?" asks a surprised DJ.

Panel Five: Wider shot of the two of them. "Yeah. What do you like to do?" DJ looks away a bit nervously. "Oh, uhm, well..."

Panel Six: View from the foot of the bed. We see Cal's back and DJ's side as he peers over his shoulder at Cal. He says, "I don't really do anything." "Oh, c'mon," says Cal.

Panel Seven: Cal is shocked as DJ explains, "No, I mean it. I hardly ever leave the room." DJ is looking away from him again, with a look somewhere between sadness and anger.

Author Note

That got awkward fast.

But what's up with DJ? He's friendly, with great grades and better looks, but he's a messy, shut-in insomniac? Something's not adding up.

I've been having more fun with the lighting and trying out new shading techniques. Overlaying gradients with the hard shading is giving me the mood I was going for, so I'm glad for that.

On a more serious note, more and more events are being cancelled as the virus spreads. That's one of the reasons I set up a Patreon - Most of our income is from events, and hopefully the Patreon will help ease the pinch. We can get through this, but we all need to do our part!
