Description
Panel One: Cal is in the foreground, facing the reader, with this back to the children and Fern. He has a sly smile on his face as he does something with his bandana in his hands just off-panel. "Are you all clean?" he asks. "Yeah! The children reply, excited. Fern looks confused.
Panel Two: Closeup of a hand puppet made from the bandana, wrapped cleverly around Cal's right hand. "Meet Inspector Rabbit!" says Cal. The background is full of stars and sparkles.
Panel Three: Same shot as panel 1, but with the puppet in the foreground. The children are thrilled, with big eyes and huge smiles, with hearts and sparkles around them. "Whoa!" they say, and "Yaay!" Behind the group, Fern claps and smiles as she thinks, "So cute!"
Panel Four: Cal addresses the puppet. "Ready to work, sir?" he asks. The puppet nods. SFX: >NOD<
Panel Five: Profile view of the puppet as it inspects a child's outstretched hands. From off-panel, Cal asks, "Inspector Rabbit, do their hands smell like soap?" SFX: >NOD< "Good!"
Panel Six: Cal uses the puppet to snuffle around one of the kid's ears, who's laughing and shrieking in delight as they're tickled. SFX: "Eee!" >giggle< "No, no, Inspector, the hands!" Cal says, smiling.
Panel Seven: Breakout head shot of Fern, slightly overlaid with the last frame. She's lauging as she thinks to herself, "He's weird, but at least he's nice!"
Author Note
Cal has a secret weapon up his sleeve! Or rather, in his pocket.
I did retcon the color of the bandana, though. It was too dark before. I've already edited the base files, but I'll go back and replace them with the correct version as soon as I'm done editing them.
