Description

Panel One: Narration - "I'm from Ocaton. It's a small town, real quiet, but it's nice." A road in a small town, flanked by small buildings and shops. People walk down the street, while two children chase a goose in the dirt road.

Panel Two: Narration - "I had friends." Cal and three other teens are around a campfire. Cal is sitting with a flaming marshmallow on a stick in his hand, looking surprised. One of his friends is laughing, one is eating marshmallows from the container and also looks surprised. The third is facepalming in frustration.

Panel Three: Narration - "I had a home." We see the exterior of a lovely Tudor-style shop/home combo in the top half of the frame. In the bottom we see a homey, rustic kitchen with a big table in the middle and a large fireplace.

Panel Four: Narration - "I had a family." Callum's parents and little sister, walking along outside. His mother has a basket on her back, with long sprigs of lavender sticking out. His father is carrying a box up on his shoulder. His adorable little sister is running ahead, laughing.

Panel Five: Narration - "Life was good." Cal is sitting down, leaning against a tree by the riverbank and reading a book. A fishing rod is beside him, its line trailing in the water. Several geese float peacefully nearby. It's a beautiful day.

The page is up! WHEW that took longer than I expected, but it's up and it looks nice. I was really going for a page that gave you a feel of what his life was like before everything went downhill. I especially wanted that last frame to evoke a feeling of nostalgia and peace.

The kiddo saw the page while I was working on it and was like, "Oh, wow! Aww, that looks so nice... Wait. HAD?! OH NO!"

Which is exactly what I was going for. So I'm happy with it.

I even figured out how to export a much nicer-looking final image from Clip Studio Paint so I'm using that and I've updated all the previous pages, as well. So go look at them, and enjoy the higher-res images!

I also started streaming on Twitch! My user name is Rabbit_Dance_ and I usually work late at night EST and sometimes during the day, so that's when I stream. I'm still learning Twitch, so bear with me as I figure things out. I set it to Mature because of swears.

What? A WIP?

Yeah, I've had a doozy of a week. First, one of our computers imploded, and then our water heater died. FUN.

So the computer had an issue with the graphics card drivers and Windows threw a fit over it and literally CORRUPTED ITSELF. No, we can't figure out why, but it did take days to fix. Everything is okay and works for now, though, so that's good. But we did have to replace the water heater. As in, replace it ourselves. Paying to have it installed would have cost as much as the water heater itself, and yeah, we're not paying that. Evie's installed them before, so it was mostly just a hassle that ate a day.

So you get a WIP today! At least you can read the story. I'll finish the inks tonight and have the shaded version up tomorrow!

Fun Fact: Oca is Italian for Goose. Guess what his hometown's main industry is?
