Description

Panel One: Narration - "I did the best I could, but -" Cal is coughing and wheezing, carrying a drink with a straw.

Panel Two: Narration - "I couldn't save our parents." Cal tries to get his mother, who is laying in bed, to take a drink.

Panel Three: Cal sits in a chair beside his parents' bed, where they lay deceased. His face is in his hands.

Panel Four: Narration - "I couldn't protect my little sister." Cal is standing in a doorway, looking feverish and breathing heavily. He thinks, "Hold on, Rosie." His little sister lays in her bed, with a washcloth on her head. She is seriously ill. Narration - "She got sick, too."

Yeah, another sad page. It won't be sad for much longer, I promise!

Drawing-wise, I'm getting the hang of using special brushes to make the work go faster, such as the ruffles on Rosie's pillow and her hair. I'm also learning to not over-detail backgrounds that don't really need it. It's hard, because I really like drawing backgrounds, but I tend to get overly-fiddly with them. So yeah, I decided to go more with "atmosphere" on this one rather than loads of details. These are his memories, after all, and he wasn't doing so hot.

I'm getting the hang of streaming in Twitch, so if you want to watch me draw the comic live, I'm usually on every night starting around... 11-ish? I also do short daytime streams when I can.
