Plague Rat – Chapter 2, Page 23

Description

Panel One: Doc goes up to Cal and hands him his suitcase. "We're free for a while," she says, "We can help you clean." Cal takes his suitcase and says, smiling, "Nah, I got it. You should enjoy your time off."

Panel Two: Matt, carrying another box, says, "At least let me show you where the cleaning supplies are."

Panel Three: A tall frame that looks down the length of the Gothic hallway that their room opens into. At the bottom of the frame are Matt and Cal. Matt is carrying a round metal trash can with a lid, and Cal is carrying a bucket and mop. The mop is resting on his shoulder. Matt says, "Let me guess - He's at breakfast?" "Heh. Yeah," says Cal. "Thought so. How're you holding up?" Matt asks. "I'm... Okay," says Cal. Matt continues, "But?" "It's just so... Different," Cal answers. "Hmm..."

Panel Four: Matt smiles and says, "It's all the touching, isn't it?" Cal lifts his shoulders and scowls as he says, "Ohmygod, yes! Everyone's just so... All over me!"

Panel Five: The two of them from behind. Down the hall, in front of them, there's a small pile of wooden crates and boxes outside of the door to Cal and DJ's room. Cal is looking up at Matt. "I thought it was just you guys, but it's everyone." Matt explains, "Well, we didn't grow up like you did. We've never had to keep our distance."

Author Note

Matt goes into Big Brother mode to check in with Cal. I'm pretty sure the entire crew of the Carpathia's already mentally adopted Cal, so it's only natural. Something tells me that Doc would win if paperwork got involved, though.

And it's our first SATURDAY comic! WHOO! As for issue three, I've finished the layout, camera angles, pose refs, and dialogue! Now to sketch/ink - If you want to watch the process, you can hop on over to my Twitch channel and get some sneak peeks! Although the spoilers are rampant (obviously). You've been forewarned. I have a little over 70 days to finish it, so this is great progress!
