Description

Panel One: A side view of Cal as he staggers forward. His left hand, nearest us, is out to the side and his right hand is clutching his shirt, pulling it away from his chest. His eyes are closed tightly and he's grimacing as he thinks, "Just... Gotta... Can't... BREATHE!"

Panel Two: Cal in bed, from the opposite side, as he awakes. He sits up, gasping for beath with his right hand at his chest. He's wearing his green plaid pajamas, and there's sunlight streaming into the room. SFX: >GASP!<

Panel Three: Middle shot of Cal. He's in the bathroom, brushing his teeth. His hair is a mess and he has dark circles under his eyes. He looks terrible. He thinks, "I swear, they're getting worse." SFX: >brush< >brush<

Panel Four: Wide, open panel of their room. We can see Cal's back and he's sitting on the edge of his bed, putting on socks. He's dressed in his uniform shirt and pants, and his hair is back to its regular level of wavy semi-disarray. His belt and other sock are on the bed a bit behind him. Past Cal, DJ is alseep in his own bed, laying on his back. He's under the blankets, but we can see that he's wearing a white pajama top with long sleeves. Cal thinks to himself, "Good thing I've got counseling at -"

Panel Five: Inset panel of Cal's profile. His eyes are wide as he realizes something. There's a small asterisk-like expression mark in the air beside his head.

Panel Six: Cutout of Cal's bronze goose watch-holder, with his gold watch hanging from its beak. It glints in the morning sunlight and the time reads 9:58 AM. The small date counter on the face reads 5/21. Next to it is a jagged speech bubble from Cal. "I'm late!"
