Description
Panel One: Fern hanging upside-down, pouting and with her arms crossed. The background is an image of angry cats. From off-panel, Cal asks, "How I about I tell you something?"
Panel Two: Fern flips herself over and laces her fingers below her chin. She has a big, cat-like smile on her face and her eyes are full of sparkles. "Please, do!" she says. The background has more sparkles and happy cat faces. SFX: flip! twist!
Panel Three: Bust shot of Cal and Fern. Cal is on the left, looking away from her, his face serious. "My family didn't want me to be a doctor," he says. Fern looks shocked, and her hands are at her face. "Really? Why?" she asks.
Panel Four: Tall, thin panel with Cal in the foreground. He's still not looking at Fern, and his hands are in his pockets. "They were afraid I'd get sick and die," he says. Fern is hanging in the background, realization on her face "Ooohh..." she says. "Couldn't blame 'em," Cal continues,
It's pretty common." The background is gloomy wth a windswept texture.
Panel Five: Cal makes a dismissive gesture and says, "Anyway, I'm hungry. I'm gonna go get something to eat." From off-panel, Fern says, "Cal, before you go..."
Panel Six: Fern is back on her feet, untying the knot in her wrappings. Her expression is soft as she says, "Thanks. I mean it. And..." "What?" Cal asks, from off-panel.
Panel Seven: Chibi Fern and Cal with a sparkly background. Fern asks Cal, with a big smile and huge, sparkly puppy eyes, "Can you show me how to make the rabbit?" SFX: Please??? Cal is laughing and says, "Sure!" SFX: Ha ha!

Getting to draw all of these fun expressions on Fern was my favorite part of this page! ^_^
And not only is this the last page of this scene, this past weekend was the last weekend of the Renaissance Festival! That means I'll be able to devote more time to the comic, so expect updates to get back on track.
