Description

Panel One: Narration: "Later." Two empty dinner plates with forks on them, along with a glass, rest atop a wooden crate. Cal, from off-panel, "- Inherited a lot of his stuff when he passed." DJ asks, "Including all these books?"

Panel Two: "Yep," says Cal. Cal is dressed in his pajamas and sitting comfortably on his bed, leaning back on his right hand with a book in his left. DJ is sitting on the floor, and he also has a book. There's a small, open crate of books between them.

Panel Three: "Wow! No wonder you did so well today," DJ says, from off-panel. "Thanks," Cal says as he looks away shyly with a small smile. He's blushing.

Panel Four: DJ's hands resting on the books in the crate. "Can I look through these?" he asks.

Panel Five: A wide shot of their room. Cal is now half under the covers of his bed and yawning. "Sure," he says. "I'm beat, though. Lotta brain work, today!" DJ smiles as he gets up from his spot on the floor, a mug in his hand. "There's more where that came from!" he says, "Anyway, I need a refill. You going to bed?" The mess on his half of the room can be seen on the far edge of the frame. Cal answers, "Yeah. 'Night, DJ." "Good night, Cal."

Author Note

Dinner and some light reading. Cal is reading "Major Outbreaks of the 22nd Century" and DJ has "Organic Chemistry". I'd like to add that I really, really love that frame of Cal blushing.
